Chapter 43: His Eyes Were Too Terrifying
The relatives of the victims looked at Han Fei standing in the pool of blood, and they all calmed down.
Ten years of waiting, it felt both long and short.
It was long in terms of time. The relatives of the victims were gradually growing older, their physical and mental strength diminishing. They began to worry that if they left this world, no one would continue to seek justice and avenge their loved ones.
It was short in terms of memories. These mere ten years couldn't make them forget the pain of losing their family members. Just a slight recollection would startle them awake in the middle of the night.
"Well, I believe you," Wei Youfu's father was the first to step forward. "Whether you said it to console us or out of genuine concern, at least I know you're also investigating the real culprit."
The old man had met Han Fei once at his home when Han Fei and Li Xue went to investigate.
He didn't say much more, just patted Han Fei's shoulder. "Take care."
The other relatives of the victims also put down their banners and slowly left the set.
After they had all left, Jiang Yi hurriedly ran over to Han Fei's side. "Are you alright? Does it still hurt? Where's the props team? Hurry up and get Han Fei changed!"
"I'm fine," Han Fei didn't care at all about the blood covering his body. He had experienced things far more terrifying than this.
"We didn't expect things to turn out like this. We're sorry for what you've gone through."
"Director Jiang, it doesn't matter if I suffer, but there's something I must tell you." Han Fei turned his head and glanced at Acheng, who had just gotten up from the ground. "This drama can't be filmed like this. If you insist on continuing, I will not only quit but also help the victims' relatives resist."
As soon as Han Fei's words came out, the surrounding crew members were astonished. They had considered Han Fei as one of their own and thought that Han Fei was just speaking casually earlier.
"Are you serious? I thought you were just consoling them," Jiang Yi brought a new set of clothes from the props team, intending to hand them to Han Fei. But Han Fei didn't take them.
"At the New Shanghai Film Academy, you taught me to call you 'teacher,' but is this movie you're shooting really the movie you want?"
"Maybe you haven't reached my age, so you don't understand. Sometimes people must learn to compromise," Jiang Yi realized that Han Fei's tone was off. "You're not really going to quit because of this, are you?"
"In the past, I cared a lot about acting, but now I've discovered that there are more important things than acting." Han Fei took off his blood-soaked coat. "I suggest you wait until the case is solved before continuing the filming. If you insist on forcefully filming it, even if it's completed, it will be a terrible film."
"Hey! What do you know?" Acheng got up from the ground. After communicating with his agent, the more he thought about it, the angrier he became. "I thought you were someone significant, but you're just a nobody playing an extra?"
"I'm not a nobody, nor am I just an extra. I am an actor." Han Fei looked calmly at Acheng.
"What works have you done? What shows have you been in? Give me a name so that I can learn from you?" Acheng didn't dare to meet Han Fei's eyes and scornfully averted his gaze.
"We're all on the same team, let's not fight among ourselves," Jiang Yi tried to mediate.
"Who's on his team? He's just an extra, and he still thinks he's superior? He said he would quit just now, right? Then let him quit! Does he really think the world revolves around him?" Acheng held grudges. When Han Fei said his acting was trash, although it was true, the truth often hurt the most.
"You better shut up! If Han Fei hadn't stood in front, that bucket of blood would have hit the victims' relatives directly! The production will be affected by that, and your company will probably have to spend a lot of money on damage control," Jiang Yi understood this industry well, and precisely because he understood, he didn't want Han Fei to leave. Han Fei had the best acting skills in the entire production.
After reprimanding Acheng, Jiang Yi walked over to Han Fei's side again. "This case has been unsolved for ten years, and who knows how much longer it will take. Even if I can afford to wait, what about the companies investing in our drama? The crew relies on this project for their livelihoods. Han Fei, be a bit more realistic."
"This guy is crazy; he's obsessed with acting. He really thinks he's the son of the victims' relatives!" Acheng expressed his extreme dissatisfaction with Han Fei. "He even said that if the script isn't changed, he'll help the victims' relatives resist?
"Don't mind the noise!" Jiang Yi raised his voice, already annoyed.
"Jiang Yi, I know he was your student, but you're treating us so differently," Acheng resented Han Fei. "Don't forget, I'm the lead in this drama. We can do without anyone, but without the lead, you won't be able to shoot anything."
After saying that, Acheng waved his hand to his agent. "Let's go."
Acheng left the set, or rather, he was a little afraid of Han Fei and didn't want to stay any longer.
After they ran out of the apartment building, his agent quickly grabbed Acheng and asked with some concern, "Acheng, is it right for us to leave like this?"
"Don't worry, I'm just giving them a taste of being ignored. Once they realize they can't do without me, they'll come looking for me again. By then, I can ask for more conditions and reluctantly agree," a vicious expression appeared on Acheng's face. "That extra, I'll find a way to push him out. He really thinks he's something."
Hearing Acheng's words, his agent felt a little uneasy inside. "Acheng, what if they don't come looking for you?"
